It is awesome to get traffic. Even better when the traffic converts. However, for anyone who is just starting out, traffic to her website is a distant dream, conversion still farther.

For her it is more like staring at a long tunnel, the end of which is dark and unknown.

Talking of tunnel, if you have ever walked into a long un-illuminated one, you’ll know that at some point inside the tunnel – roughly in the middle – you won’t see anything at either end.

It’s here that you are engulfed by darkness, being not able to see even your hand.

You feel vulnerable and exposed, and because you don’t know which way to go, you are likely to flounder at your steps.

I didn’t mean to start with the cautionary tale, but as an ardent follower of Ken Evoy’s famous CTPM formula I am wary that too many web startups find it hard to get past the mid-point of the tunnel to success simply because they get the whole thing so wrong!

It makes sense to subscribe to Ken’s formula.

It simply reinforces the age-old axiom that you have to sow a healthy seed and nurture with care for it to grow and keep growing. You’ve heard these grandmotherly stories, haven’t you?

For a web business the healthy seed is your indomitable urge to create targeted relevant contents, and then keep on doing it.

As the contents accumulate layer after layer, your expertise on the subject becomes apparent to the visitors… and yes to the search engines as well.

Then the magic starts happening.

Without ado here is Ken’s formula in action.

Content > Traffic > PREsell > Monetization

To quote Ken, web users search for information, for solutions.

They are not looking for you – they don’t know you (yet!). They seek what you know. Give it to them. Convert your knowledge into in-demand content.

Simple really, but how to know what information web users seek that you know about? Well, there are tools provided by SBI! that do precisely this – to help you research what you can give vis-à-vis what the market (sorry, users) demands.

The fact that contents get you traffic is well documented. A year back I chanced upon a real account of how 150 blog posts in 50 days resulted in staggering traffic in about 10 weeks… so much so that they could afford to dismiss the SEO firm they had hired.

At SBI! Ken had been stressing on building contents for a long, long time before it became the buzzword as seen these days. As can be seen in the following diagram, 35% of SBI! sites ranked in the top 1% of all sites.

That’s no mean feat considering that content as long-term business strategy has been doing rounds for quite a while.

SBI! sites rank in top 1%

People put faith on you when they come across the contents you create that answer their problems and are helpful for their needs.

To give example, suppose you write a series of articles on image optimization which is such a rage in the recent days.

Now if you plan to create an e-learning course on how to master visual contents, people will be convinced that they will get real value from your course. Don’t you think so?

The idea is to presell your ideas and expertise to the eager visitors who are desperately looking for solutions to their problems. And this is possible with the help of useful contents you create over a length of time.

By now, you will have established your credentials as a true provider of value information in your niche area of expertise. People have faith in you, and on your ability to solve their problems.

Time is now ripe to monetize your expertise.

Ken says, monetization or “M” cannot happen if you fail to first execute the formula C > T > P > M. This is where 99% of small businesses fail. C > T > P is the motor that drives “M.”

That’s quite evident.

As a newcomer on the web, like millions of newcomers all over the globe, the first steps are crucial.

This is the time to build your authority before taking any action for monetization.

How SBI! Helps

It is not uncommon to find new web businesses taking off without proper planning.

Usually the thinking is if Bill, Molly, and Pat can do, so can I. This is a wrong surmise, because so many factors are left unattended and not given enough consideration they need.

As a result, many startup businesses fail.

SBI! helps you overcome this crucial decision making phase with élan because it gives you the tools to

(1) research what terms the visitors search for in your field,
(2) guide you in gauging the competitive landscape, and finally
(3) chalk out your monetization plan even though you are yet to start.

In fact going forward there are many more tools lined up to do the heavy lifting for you – the building and hosting of your website, traffic building system, trust-building tools, monetization steps, and so on.

Being a WordPress user I am particularly enamored with the helpful bizExpress plugin that combines the power of SBI! with my favourite CMS.

The bizXpress Action Guide comes at no extra charge, and you have access to a wide range of up-to-date, supplementary information to deepen your understanding and fine-tune your business strategies.

What Next?

Web business is not what many of us believe it is.

Yes, there is a giant wave of visitors constantly washing up the shores of World Wide Web, but they are disparate in their wants and wishes.

If you can cater to even a miniscule portion of that crowd you’ll be better off for the rest of your life.

The question is how you do that. And the answer is, by carefully studying their needs and coming up with solutions that satisfy those needs.

Ken Evoy’s SBI! certainly boosts your chances of web business success.
